Bioactive Collagen Peptides in Joint Pain: Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis

Many studies have been done on oral collagen (joint collagen) to show its effectiveness on osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. A recent study by Woo.T and colleagues which was published in the Journal of Arthritis on Feb 2017 on the “Efficacy of Oral Collagen in Joint Pain- Osteoarthritis (OA) and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)” showed that hydrolyzed collagen (collagen hydrolysate) has a significant effect on OA and RA patients.

Collagen hydrolysate or known as bioactive collagen peptides (BCP) showed significantly to have better effects on joint pain in OA and RA patients as compared to the use of glucosamine and chondroitin. Furthermore, it is found that BCP reduces swelling and pain in joints of RA patients. Overall BCP has showed significant benefits on joint pain related to osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis and more studies are carried out by researchers to further confirm its effects.

Recogen contains 100% pure bioactive collagen peptides. Every 10g sachet of Recogen will deliver 10g of bioactive collagen peptides which is more than sufficient for a man’s daily body requirement. Apart from benefiting the joints, it improves muscles strength and stamina as well. Recogen Gold on the other hand contains additional rosehip extract, a natural plant extract which has been studied on its effect on joint inflammation by researchers. All ingredients in Recogen are natural and proven to have no adverse effects and safe to consume.
