Rosehip Reduces Symptoms of Knee and Hip Osteoarthritis

A study done by Winther K. and colleagues in 2005 on rosehip and its effect on the symptoms of knee and hip osteoarthritis on 94 patients with osteoarthritis of the knee and hip. After 3 weeks of treatment, the group of patients that are treated with rosehip herbal remedy found significant reduced WOMAC pain score as compared to the placebo group. It was also showed that the WOMAC disability, stiffness, and global assessment of severity of the disease were decreased significantly after 3 weeks of treatment with rosehip and even more significantly after 3 months of treatment. The consumption of “rescue medication” in these osteoarthritis patients was also found to have reduced after treatment with rosehip.

Rosehip is one of the ingredients other than the collagen peptides in Recogen GOLD that aids in reducing anti-inflammation hence relieve pain in osteoarthritis patients. Also, it also reduces stiffness and swelling which are the symptoms associated with osteoarthritis patients.
